I headed along to Hunter's Roots along with a friend of mine who is associated with a different food blog. Declaring the place neutral ground, we each allowed the other only one food photo for the morning.
I chose to snap my gluten free toast as it was an experiment in finding a gluten free bread that I liked. I haven't previously enjoyed them particularly, but I had heard good things about Hunter's Roots and was hopeful.
The bread, which I believe is house made, was excellent and it came along with a beautiful, floral, organic honey. Sprinkled in blossoms and served by the two incredibly helpful staff (who I had a feeling may have been the owners) I was very impressed.
Further, the coffee that I got with it, served in a really cute earthenwear cup, was really good. Also organic (as I understand everything in the place is) it was a really fine cup, and really nicely made.
Hunter's roots is a little out of the way (hidden next to 5 and Dime Bagels off Flinders Street) however I would recommend that you give it a look!
